New Castle – Yesterday at about 7:15 p.m., County Police responded to the area of Landers Lane and New Castle Avenue in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 26-year-old male victim suffering an apparent gunshot wound. The victim advised that the incident occurred in the area of Howell Drive at Daniel Lane. He was able to flee the area and call police.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. His medical status is not known at this time. Detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
