Gunman Gets Zip From Robbery Victim

Claymont – Delaware State Police are currently investigating an attempted armed robbery which occurred in the parking lot of a Claymont area Burger King early this morning, according to Delaware State Police Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Jeffrey R. Hale

At approximately 1:40 a.m. this morning, Friday, January 13, 2017, two male employees were standing in the parking lot of the Burger King Restaurant located at 2911 Philadelphia Pike in Claymont. Hale said a male suspect approached the employees and pointed a gun at them. One of the victims immediately fled from the parking lot while the suspect then demanded money from the second victim, said Hale.

The victim, however, did not have any money. The suspect then fled from the parking lot in an eastbound direction and was last seen entering into the passenger seat of a dark colored unknown make and model passenger car which was being operated by a second unknown subject, according to Hale. The vehicle then fled on Philadelphia Pike.

The armed suspect was described as a black male. He was 35-40 years of age, 5’09”-6’00” tall, weighed 170-200 lbs., and was last seen wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt and light colored pants.
