Man Shot In Greenwood

Greenwood – Troopers are investigating a shooting that sent one victim to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Delaware State Police Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Gary Fournier.

Fournier said that sometime between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., Monday January 16, 2017, dispatchers in the Kent County Emergency Operations Center (9-1-1) received a call from an area hospital in reference to a 32-year-old victim that arrived with a gunshot wound to his lower torso. The shooting incident was reported to have occurred in the area of Unity Lane northeast of Greenwood, said Fournier.

The victim contacted a relative who transported him to the hospital where he was treated and for the non-life-threatening injury.

The investigation into this incident is on-going and no suspect information could be provided.
