Man Who Fell To His Death “Not An NRG Employee”

Dagsboro – The man that died this morning at the Indian River Power Plant was not an employee of the plant, according to NRG Energy Spokesman David Gaier,

Indian River Power PlantGaier said that the person who died this morning, at the NRG’s Indian River Generating Station in Dagsboro, was a contractor and not an NRG employee.

Gaier tells First State Update that the Delaware State police were quickly onsite and are conducting an investigation. He went on to to say “NRG sends its deepest condolences to the family.”

The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit is onsite and investigating the accident, according to Delaware State Police Spokesman Master Corporal Gary Fournier.

Fournier said that the preliminary investigation indicates that the incident occurred around 8:11 a.m. this morning, Tuesday January 31, 2017, when a male subject fell from a roof of the power plant and died as a result of the fall.
