Shots Ring Out In Wilmington Once Again, Man Escapes Death

Wilmington – Shortly after 7:55 p.m, on Monday, January 30, 2017 Wilmington Police Officers responded to the area of the 800 block of S. Harrison Street in reference to a Shot Spotter notification of gunfire, according to Wilmington Police.

Arriving officers initially were unable to locate a victim. After a brief search officers found the victim in the 1200 block of Oak Street. The 18-year-old white male was sitting in a car near the scene, according to scanner traffic.

The victim was found to be suffering from gunshot graze wounds to his lower legs and back areas, said police. The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics ans transported to the Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

The circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.
