Child Struck By Truck In Wilmington

Wilmington – On Tuesday January 31, 2017 at approximately 5:38 p.m. Wilmington Police Officers responded to the 1200 block of Linden Street in reference to a motor vehicle accident involving a juvenile pedestrian that was struck.

Reports from the scene indicate that the child may have been trapped under the vehicle for a time.

The juvenile was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the A.I. DuPont Children’s Hospital in serious but stable condition with head and facial injuries. The operator of the striking vehicle remained on scene.

The accident investigation is in the preliminary stages and ongoing at this hour.
