Update: Milford Man Wanted In Wawa Robbery Arrested

Milford – Update: Joseph W. Prouse Jr. was arrested by the Milford Police on the evening of 2/8/2017. Prouse Jr. was taken into custody after Milford Police received information that Prouse Jr. may be in the area of the double digit block of SE Front Street. Upon arriving to that area police located Prouse Jr. and took him into custody without incident.

Prouse Jr. was charged with one count of Robbery 1st Degree. He was committed to SCI in default of $20,000.00 secured bond. Prouse Jr. also had active capiases out of KCCP.

Milford- The Milford Police Department is investigating the robbery of Wawa, located on N. DuPont Highway In Milford, according to Milford Police Spokesman Det. Timothy Maloney.

Maloney said the investigation revealed that a white male entered the store on Tuesday, February 7,  2017 at approximately 11:45 pm and presented the clerk with a note advising that he had a gun and demanded money.

The clerk turned over an undisclosed amount of money and fled from the store, said Maloney. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Police released the information about this incident via social media.

Moments after the the video and photographed was released to social media, the Milford Police Department received several tips from the members of the public who believe the suspect is Joseph W. Prouse Jr. a 23 year old male, from Milford.  Police said that Prouse is homeless and last known to be staying in the Milford area.  The Milford Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Prouse.
