Over $1800 In Cigarettes Stolen In Newark

On February 10, 2017 at 2:32 p.m. Newark Police responded to a report of a theft at 1168 Elkton Road, Tobacco Outlet. The reporting person, who works for Allen Brothers Wholesalers, reported tabacco-outletthat an unknown suspect stole a box containing 30 cartons of cigarettes valued at $1,859.70 from off of the back of the truck as he was inside delivering other items, according to Newark Police Spokesman Lieutenant Fred Nelson.

Nelson said that a review of surveillance footage showed the suspect pulling into the parking lot in what appeared to be a blue Toyota Camry. The suspect then exited his vehicle, removed the box of cigarettes, and left the parking lot in his vehicle, said Nelson.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing khaki shorts, a black shirt with red sleeves, and a red hat.
