Is Your Radio Shack Closing It’s Doors?

Newark – If you’ve been to a Delaware Radio Shack recently you probably noticed the “Everything On Sale” and the “No Returns, All Sales Are Final” signs throughout the store.  Are they going out of businesses? Are they closing?

Well according to the employees at several Delaware locations the answer is “We don’t know.” An employee at the Newark’s College Square location said she didn’t think they were closing, but was unsure why everything was on sale. Calls to several other Delaware locations were met with similar answers.

We did find a few stores that had a better understanding of what was happening. Employees at the Milford, People’s Plaza and Governor’s Square locations all confirmed that their locations would be closing in about three weeks..

We contacted Radio Radio Shack corporate headquarters to see if they could shed some light on the “Inventory Reduction” sales that are being held at it’s Delaware locations but we couldn’t get a human on the line. Several attempts to navigate the robotic phone system all ended in defeat.

We’re not sure which stores are on the list but if you need a resistor, 25 feet of speaker wire, a weather radio or a 24 pack of batteries it might be a good time to stop by your local store.

An article in the Consumerist discuses the possibility that RadioShack’s parent company is preparing to file for bankruptcy. Take a peek
