Kirkwood Highway Wendy’s Robbed In Newark

Newark – Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a Newark area Wendy’s restaurant that occurred yesterday evening, according to Public Information officer, Master Corporal Jeffrey R. Hale.

Hale said that the initial investigation has determined that the incident happened at approximately 6:35 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, as a male suspect entered the Wendy’s Restaurant, located at 10 Possum Park Road, Newark.

The suspect then approached the sales counter where he confronted a female employee. While implying that he was armed with a gun, the suspect demanded money from the cash register, according to Hale.

The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of money to him. He then exited the restaurant and fled in an unknown direction. The employee was not injured.

The suspect was described as a white male. He was 6’02”-6’04” tall, weighed 170-190 lbs., and had blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants. There is no further physical or clothing description available. No video surveillance photos are available at this time.
