49th Shooting Victim Died Overnight, Makes Him 14th Homicide Victim

Wilmington – The 18-year-old male in yesterday’s shooting investigation from the 2300 block of N. Claymont Street succumbed to his injuries at Christiana Hospital last night.

The victim has been identified as Yaseem Powell, 18, of Wilmington. The investigation remains active and ongoing at this hour. Anyone that has information relative to this investigation is asked to call Detective McKenzie Kirlin at 302-576-3653, or 302-932-8527.

Wilmington – Wilmington Police Department Uniform Services Division officer’s and Criminal Investigations Division Detectives remain on the scene of a shooting investigation in the 2300 block of N. Claymont Street.

At approximately 4:08 pm, today, March 28, 2017, police units responded to a shots fired complaint in the area of the 2300 block of N. Claymont Street.

Arriving officers located an adult male down in the block suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the Christiana Hospital Emergency Room in critical condition.
