Santa Look Alike Arrested And Charged With Burglary

Harrington – On Friday March 17, 2017 the Harrington Police Department arrested Robert L. Kopp Sr. 71, of Harrington for Burglary after he broke into a house, according to Public Information Officer Captain Earl K. Brode.

Brode said that while on patrol at 12:48 pm police were called to vacant house on Ward Street for a report of a possible trespassing in progress. Police arrived and contacted a witness who reported to police seeing a subject enter into the vacant house.

Police located an unsecured rear window to the residence and located Mr. Kopp hiding inside the residence, said Brode. He was taken into custody without incident.

Brode said that police also located a bag in Mr. Kopp’s possession containing burglar tools. He was transported to the Harrington Police Department for processing. He was charged with Burglary Third Degree and Possession of Burglar Tools.

He was arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and was released on $4,000 unsecured bond.
