Two Young Teens Shot In Dover Parking Lot

The Dover Police Department is investigating the shooting of two teens on Wednesday night. The shootings occurred at 7:55 p.m. when a light green or light blue passenger car pulled in the parking lot at Stevenson Drive, DoverE (Manchester Square Apts Parking Lot) near where a 16-year-old and 17-year-old were standing, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said that the passenger in the vehicle fired multiple shots in their direction, striking the 17-year-old in the knee and grazing the 16-year-old in the leg. The 16-year-old refused treatment for his injury (authorized by parent), and the 17-year-old was admitted to Kent General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries as a result of the gunshot wound to the knee.

The suspect (vehicle passenger) in the shooting is described only as being a black male with no further description available. While on scene, detectives also observed that an unoccupied vehicle had been struck by a stray bullet.
