Hockessin – Early this morning, Tuesday April 18, at around 7:30 a.m. New Castle County Police along with rescue crews responded the area of Brackenville Road at Valley Wood Road for an injury accident.

Arriving units found that a tree had fallen on vehicle in the roadway. The passengers in the car were Delaware Attorney General Matt Denn and his son according to the AG’s Spokesman Carl Kanefsky.

Attorney General Denn and his son Zach were driving this morning in their family car when a tree fell across the road and totaled the vehicle. Neither were seriously injured  but it obviously was a frightening experience and could have been far worse. The Attorney General gives his thanks to the police, fire and medical responders at the scene and to medical staff at A.I. duPont Hospital for Children for their treatment, said Kanefsky.

Reports from the scene indicate that two patients were transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Brackenville Road remained closed between Route 7 and  Mill Creek Road as crews clear the scene.
