Burglary At Popular Newark Pizza Joint, One Arrested

Shaheim Parker

Newark  – On march 13, 2017 Newark Police (NPD) responded to a commercial burglary at Little Ceasars Pizza, located at 240 E. Delaware Avenue. Employees reported that cash was missing and that there was no forced entry into the restaurant, according to NPD spokesman Fred Nelson.

Nelson said a review of surveillance footage determined that the suspect entered through the front door at approximately 12:21 a.m. with something covering his face. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division reviewed area surveillance cameras and located the suspect vehicle, which was eventually linked to an ex-employee, Shaheim Parker, according to Nelson.

On April 4, 2017 detectives executed a search warrant at an address associated with Parker and recovered several items of evidence tying him to the burglary, said Nelson. Parker was subsequently arrested and video arraigned in front of Justice of the Peace Court 2. He was then released on $6,000 unsecured bond.

Parker was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Theft Under $1500 and Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony
