Newark Woman Charged In 3 ACME Shoplifting Cases

Newark – On Friday April 14, 2017 Newark Police responded to ACME for a report of a shoplifting in progress, according to Newark Police Spokesman Fred Nelson.

Nelson said upon arrival officers spoke with the loss prevention officer who pointed out a female. The female was later identified as Samantha Lennon, 21, of Newark, who was allegedly concealing merchandise while in the store, according to Nelson.

Officers contacted Lennon and located 15 assorted cleaning and hygiene products totaling $93.95 hidden in her purse, said Nelson.

Lennon was arrested and subsequently linked to two additional shoplifting incidents at ACME, one on 08/08/16 and the other on 8/17/16. Nelson said during the incident on 8/10/16, Lennon concealed $255.62 in merchandise and on 8/17/16 she concealed $251.33 in merchandise.

Lennon was arrested on all three shoplifting incidents and arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 11 where she was given $1500 unsecured bond and released.
