Dover -The Dover Police Department is investigating a Hit and Run Accident that occurred on Tuesday morning, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said at approximately 11:31 a.m., police responded to the area of Kenton Road, just north of College Road for a vehicle that struck a tree.

Further investigation revealed that an older model black SUV (similar to GMC Jimmy or Chevrolet Blazer according to the victim) began tailgating the female victim on Kenton Road while traveling northbound, said Hoffman.

The suspect attempted to pass the victim over a double yellow line, but suddenly sideswiped the driver side of the victim’s vehicle, causing her to go off the roadway and strike a tree, according to Hoffman.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Bayhealth Kent General Hospital. The suspect continued to travel northbound on Kenton Road without stopping. The suspect is described as a heavy-set white male with a goatee.
