Did ATM Kidnapper Strike In The Marshallton-Area?


Wilmington – New Castle County Police (NCCPD) are currently investigating an assault with a weapon in the community of Farrand Village Apartments, according to NCCPD Spokesman JP Piser.

Piser said Monday (May 22) at about 5:30 p.m., County Police were dispatched to an area hospital for an assault that occurred in the unit block of Deville Circle Police made contact with the 20-year-old female victim who stated she was taking her trash to the dumpster at about 5:00 p.m. when a man yelled to her.

The victim advised that she could not understand what the man said and described him as a 5’09”, muscular build, 20 to 24-year old with a dark complexion, wearing a pull-over hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans, and brown shoes. The victim proceeded to walk back towards her apartment building.

The victim stated that the man approached her from behind, grabbed her, and began to strike her in the face with an unknown item. The victim was able to fight back and free herself. The suspect fled towards the wooded area north-east of the complex.

The victim was taken to the hospital via ambulance where she was treated for cuts to her face and released.

The investigation has been turned over to detectives.

At this point in the investigation, police have discovered no evidence to link this particular suspect or incident to any other incidents currently being investigated by the County Police.
