K-9 Officer Locates Shooting Victim After Hearing Shots

Wilmington – On Thursday, May 17, 2017, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a K-9 officer was on proactive patrol in the area of 4th and N. Rodney Street when he notified 911 Dispatch of gunshots being fired in the area.

The K-9 officer and assisting police units located a 29-year-old male in the 400 block of N. Rodney Street who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his right leg.

The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the Christiana Hospital Emergency Room in stable condition.
