Overturned Service Truck Shuts Down Intersection In Newport

Newport – At 8:48 a.m. this morning Belvedere Fire Company Fire Company responded to a report of accident at Centerville Road Boxwood Road.

Arriving first responders  found an overturned Horizon Services box truck and a small silver sadan with heavy front end damage.

Centerville road was blocked from both the North and South bound direction and Boxwood road was blocked in the eastbound direction.

Crews on scene worked to get the box truck upright after it had fallen on its side. Heavy damage was visible to both cars including a fuel leak from the box truck.

Both drivers were checked out and refused medical transport.

The crash also resulted in the destruction of two pedestrian crossing signals.

The road remained closed until 12:15 p.m.
