Police: Claymont Wawa Customer Robbed In Bathroom

Claymont- Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a customer which occurred at an area Wawa early this morning, according to Public Information Officer Master Corporal Jeffrey Hale.

Hale said the initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred at approximately 12:19 a.m. yesterday, Monday, May 29, 2017, as a male customer entered the bathroom of the Wawa located at 2621 Philadelphia Pike.

It was at this point that the customer was confronted by a male suspect, who had also entered the bathroom, that implied that he was armed with a handgun and demanded money from the victim, according to Hale. The victim complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of money to him, added Hale. The suspect then exited the bathroom and fled from the store. The victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as a white male. He was approximately 20 years of age, 5’09” tall, and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and red shorts.
