Police: K-9 Tracks Burglar To Nearby Home

Allan Watson

Wilmington – New Castle County Police (NCCPD) have arrested 39-year-old Allan Watson for burglary following an investigation in the community of Murray Manor, according to NCCPD Spokeswoman M/Cpl. Heather Carter.

Carter said yesterday Wednesday May 9, 2017, at about 12:55 p.m., New Castle County Police were called to the 1100 Block of 12th avenue in Murray Manor for a burglary that had just occurred. Police learned that a suspect, later identified as Allan Watson, entered the residence through an unlocked window, was confronted by a neighbor, and then fled on foot, said Carter.

K-9 Ax and his handler responded to the scene and conducted a track which led to Allan Watson’s residence, also in the 1100 block of 12th Ave., according to Carter. Police contacted Allan Watson and took him into custody without issue. Officers discovered an active no contact order between Allan Watson and the victim stemming from a previous theft investigation.

Allan Watson was charged with second-degree burglary, attempted felony theft and violation of a no contact order. He was arraigned and committed to Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $7,500.00 secured bail.
