Ram Truck Forces Ford Into Analtech Ripping New Hole In Building

Newark – Just after 6:00 a.m. this morning, Monday, May 22, 2017, a collision involving a Dodge pickup truck and a Ford pickup truck, on Route 72 (South Chapel Street) at Blue Hen Drive, closed the road to southbound traffic while rescue crews worked the scene.

Both trucks were heavily damaged during the crash, The Ford left the roadway knocking down a crosswalk signal before ending up inside a nearby business.

The accident reportedly sent at least one to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The business that the Ford crashed into, Analtech,  uses chemicals to manufacture plates and other accessories used in thin-layer chromatography.

First responders determined that DNREC’s HAZMAT team needed to be called to deal with any potential chemical leaks.

Crews remain on scene as and the southbound lanes of 72 remain closed.
