Tires Slashed Near Downes Elementary In Newark

Newark – The Newark Police Department is investigating three incidents of criminal mischief that occurred between midnight and 9:31 a.m. on Sunday April 20, 2017, according to NPD spokesman Lt. Fred Nelson.

Nelson said the incidents occurred in the 900 block of Rahway Drive in the Cherry Hill neighborhood.  Three residents reported that an unknown suspect slashed their vehicle tires. Two of the vehicles were parked in the same driveway and had one tire slashed.

The damaged vehicles were a Hyundai Sonata and a Hyundai Santa Fe.  A third vehicle, a Plymouth Voyager, parked nearby had two tires slashed on the passenger side.  None of the victims were able to provide suspect information.
