Multiple Shots Fired In Newark


Newark – Delaware State Police are investigating an incident in which a Wilmington man was shot at that occurred late this morning just north of Glasgow, according to Public Information Officer Master Corporal Jeffrey R. Hale.

Hale said the initial investigation has determined that the incident happened at approximately 11:53 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, June 6, 2017, as a 28-year-old Wilmington man was walking on Route 896 (South College Avenue) in the area of Executive Drive.

It was at this point that the victim was approached by a dark colored vehicle with tinted windows. A male subject in the front passenger seat of the car then fired multiple rounds from an unknown make and model handgun at the victim, according to Hale.

The vehicle then left the area and was last seen fleeing in a southbound direction on Rt. 896. The male victim was not injured and could not provide any further information.
