Happening Now: Body Found On Tracks Near Newark’s Historic Train Station


Newark – At 9:35 am the Newark Police responded to the area of S. Chapel Street and Farm Lane after an Amtrak employee reported finding a body in the area of the Amtrak train tracks, according to Newark Police Spokesman Fred Nelson.

Nelson said that the investigation was subsequently turned over to Amtrak Police. We are in contact with Amtrak officials and will have more soon.

Trains that normally travel through the area at speeds of up to 120 MPH are crawling through the area as investigators work the scene.
