Man Arrested In Second Capital Green Shooting Case

 

Dover – The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting of an 18-year-old male on Wednesday night and a 37-year-old male on Thursday morning, both taking place in the Capital Green neighborhood, according to police.

Officials said the first shooting occurred at approximately 7:30 pm on Wednesday. Officers responded to the 400 Block of River Road in the Capital Green neighborhood, for reports of shots fired. Officers arrived and located a scene where several shell casings were on the ground. A few minutes later, officers learned that the 18-year-old male victim arrived at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital with a single gunshot wound to the lower back. The victim was treated and released for his injuries and is described as being minimally cooperative by detectives.

At approximately 4:31 am, officers responded to the 400 Block of River Road for another call of shots fired. Officers arrived and found a 37-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his upper body. The victim was transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital by medical personnel, where he is currently undergoing treatment for a serious injury. Witnesses in the area reported that several people were in the area at the time of the shooting and that an argument may have taken place prior to the shooting.

The Dover Police Department has arrested a suspect in the second Capital Green shooting that took place at approximately 4:31 am on Thursday morning. Dahhpy Brewah (22), of Magnolia, was arrested without incident after detectives were able to pinpoint him as the suspect in the shooting of a 37-year-old man who remains hospitalized, according to authorities.

Brewah is charged with the Assault 1st Degree, Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony and Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited.
