Weekend Fire At Apartment Complex Causes $300,000 In Damages


Elkton, Md. – Early Sunday morning at approximate 12:45 am Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder’s Engine 9, Quint 7, and Deputy 8 assisted the Singerly Fire Company on a 2nd alarm commercial structure fire at 4301 Stone Gate Boulevard.

The building on fire was the leasing office at the Stonegate Apartment Homes in Elkton,  which sits just across from the road from the Wawa along the MD/DE state line.

Fire Marshals say that the fire began in  the men’s bathroom sauna and estimated the loss at $300,000.

The incident remains under investigation.
