Crash Into Newark Utility Pole Sends Two To Hospital

Newark – At approximately 3:00 this afternoon, August 15, 2017, crews from Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder, along with officers from the Newark Police Department responded to the Newark United Methodist Church on Delaware Avenue for reports of a crash involving injuries.

Arriving crews found a heavily damaged white Toyota that had struck a utility pole. Reports from the scene indicate that two patients were helped from the car prior to the recuse crews arriving. The two were reportedly being assisted by the staff inside the church.

Both patients were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident closed one lane of traffic as officers investigated the accident.
