Friday Accident In Townsend Sends Two To Hospital

Townsend – On Friday at approximately 6:20 pm, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Townsend Fire Company and Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown were dispatched to the intersection of Summit Bridge Road and DuPont Parkway, for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment.

Arriving County Paramedics found a two vehicle crash with one victim trapped in the wreckage. The trapped victim was freed from the wreckage in ten minutes by fire department personnel on scene. The patient, a 32-year-old male, was treated for a head injury. He was transported to the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital on board the State Police helicopter, in stable condition. Another victim from the second vehicle was transported to the hospital on board an ambulance from the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown. The scene was under the command of the Townsend Fire Company.

The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the crash.
