Cyclist In Serious Condition After Colliding With Car In Talleyville

Talleyville – Just before 9:30 this morning crews from the New Castle County (NCC) Paramedics and Talleyville Fire Company responded to the intersection of Foulk Road and Silverside Road for reports of an accident involving a vehicle verses a cyclist.

Upon arrival New Castle County Paramedics found the patient in care of emergency medical technicians (EMT’s) from Talleyville Fire Company.  The man was suffering from injuries to his arm, shoulder and back, according to Yvonne Russell, spokeswoman for NCC Paramedics. The patient was transported to Wilmington Hospital via Talleyville Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in serious condition at the time of transport. Reports from the scene indicate that the patient was transported to the trauma center.

Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation), alerted to the accident, was cancelled by ground units and was not utilized.

An elderly woman was observed in the vehicle that was involved in the accident. No injuries were reported for the driver of that vehicle.

Delaware State Police continue to investigate the accident.
