Happening Now: Wilmington Draw-Bridge Stuck In Open Position

The S. Walnut Street bridge over the Christina River is currently stuck in the “up” position not allowing any vehicles to proceed north of S. Walnut street (Rt. 13).

Therefore all northbound traffic on S. Walnut Street (Rt. 13 north) is currently being rerouted at A Street, east bound onto A Street.

Traffic is then being re routed over the Winchester Bridge into 4th Street. Travelers in the area should expect delays as the bridge situation is fixed.

If you have images of the bridge you can message us on Facebook.

Wilmington dispatch has announced that the budge has ben lowered at 8:27 pm.
