SNAP Pizza Is Getting Some Competition On Main Street

Newark – MOD (Made On Demand) Pizza, known for its individual, artisan-style pizza and salads and people-first culture, is opening its first Delaware location at 111 E Main Street (Former COSI site at Washington House) in Newark this fall.

“MOD was founded on the idea that if we take care of our people and our communities, the business will largely take care of itself,” said Scott Svenson, MOD co-founder and CEO. “ur motivation to bring MOD to new communities is driven by our desire to make a positive social impact on as many lives as possible. This includes offering job and career growth opportunities to those who traditionally face barriers to employment, and building partnerships that are focused on supporting at-risk youth and families in each of our markets.”

MOD’s individual, artisan-style pizzas are made on demand, using fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces. Customers create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of over 30 featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. The price always remains the same regardless of the number of toppings. Pizzas are hand-cooked in an 800-degree oven in just minutes and salads are individually hand-tossed for each customer. The menu is rounded out with handspun milkshakes, house-made lemonades and iced teas, and local craft beers and wine.

The 3000-square foot Washington House location will include an outdoor patio, original artwork and MOD’s signature “Wall of Fame,” a photo collage that pays homage to the local community and people from the MOD journey. MOD will be partnering with a local non-profit for its grand opening, who will receive 100% of all pizza sales from opening day. For updates on the grand opening date, local festivities and events, the community is invited to follow MOD on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/modpizza.

The company will hire approximately 30 energetic and passionate individuals to join what they call the MOD Squad. Interested individuals are encouraged to follow MOD’s Facebook page to watch for dates (https://www.facebook.com/modpizza), or to submit resumes to: www.modpizza.com/jobs.
