Townsend – Rescue crews from Townsend and Kent County responded to Route 1 and Route 13 for a multiple vehicle accident with injuries, this afternoon.
Reports from the scene indicate that several cars collided traveling at approximately 60 mph, two of which ended up facing the wrong direction.. One car was hit in the rear and spun. Others appear to have struck the Jersey barrier.
Two patients have been transported to Christiana Hospital in Middletown with non-life-threatening injuries
Troopers have moved the accident to the side of the road and Route 1 is now open.

Mulitple ambulance are headed to the scene. Route 1 SB is closed.
