Happening Now: Driver Killed When Dump Truck Overturns In Pike Creek, Road Closed

Pike Creek – Delaware State Police are currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash which occurred this morning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Jeffrey Hale.

Hale said the initial investigation has determined that the crash occurred at approximately 3:22 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, September 26, 2017, on southbound DE Rt. 7 (Limestone Road) at New Linden Hill Road, and involves a passenger car and a dump truck carrying a load of chicken feed which has overturned. As a result of the crash, one subject has been declared dead at the scene and a second subject has been transported to the Christiana Hospital with unknown injuries.

The intersection of DE Rt. 7 at New Linden Hill Road has been closed to traffic at this time and commuters should find alternate routes of travel.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is enroute to the scene and will assume the investigation. More details will be released at the conclusion of the investigation.
