Man In Good Condition After Being Shot In The Head This Afternoon

Wilmington –  On September 04, 2017 at approximately 2:09 hours, Wilmington Police Officer’s responded to the area of the 600 block of S. Heald Street in reference to a Shot Spotter notification of gunfire, according to police.

Officials said arriving officers located a 19-year-old male victim at D Street and S. Heald Street who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his right ankle and a graze wound to his head. The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the Christiana Hospital Emergency Room in good condition.

Assisting officers located a crime scene in the 700 block of Townsend Place. The circumstances surrounding this shooting incident remain under investigation. Anyone with information relative to this investigation is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 302-576-3620.
