New Photos From This Mornings Bus Crash In Smyrna

Smyrna – Delaware State Police are currently investigating a serious two vehicle crash which occurred this morning north of Smyrna, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Jeffrey Hale.

Hale said the initial investigation has determined that the crash occurred at approximately 6:06 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, September 19, 2017, on southbound DuPont Parkway (US13) at Black Diamond Road, and involves a passenger car and a school bus. One subject has sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and has been transported to the Christiana Hospital.

The southbound lanes of US13 have been closed at Black Diamond Road and commuters are asked to find alternate routes of travel.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is enroute to the scene and will assume the investigation. Further details will be released at the conclusion of the investigation.
