Newark Police Need Your Help Identifying This Robbery Suspect


Newark – The Newark Police Department is investigating a strong arm robbery that occurred on 9/1/2017 at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the parking of Wawa, 601 Ogletown Road, Newark, according to Lieutenant Fred Nelson.

Nelson said the victim, a 48-year-old male from Newark, reported that he was standing next to his vehicle when he was approached from behind by the suspect. The victim stated the suspect grabbed him and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, the suspect was able to remove an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim’s pocket, said Nelson.

The suspect then fled on foot towards the College Square Shopping Center. After investigative leads have failed to identify the suspect, the police department is asking the public to assist in his identification. The suspect is described as a white male, 18 – 24 years old, brown eyes, brown hair, thin mustache, light facial acne, wearing a camouflage hooded jacket and blue jeans.
