Pedestrian Struck And Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver

Sandtown – The Delaware State Police are currently on the scene of a fatal hit and run pedestrian crash, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Gary Fournier.

Fournier said the incident occurred around 9:07 p.m. Tuesday September 5, 2017 in the area of the 1000 block of Willow Grove Road (SR10) east of Sandtown Road and involves a pedestrian struck by a car. The pedestrian was been pronounced dead at the scene

An unknown type of car fled westbound on SR10, possibly into Maryland, according to Fournier.

SR10 between Sandtown Road and Mahon Corner Road was closed in the area as Troopers investigated.

Sandtown is 20 miles Southwest of Dover.
