Police: Two Middletown Businesses Burglarized By Wilmington Juvenile

Middletown – On August 19, 2017 at approximately 3:38 am Middletown Police Officers responded to the Metro Pub located at 17 Wood Street in Middletown, Delaware in reference to a burglary investigation, according to Middletown Police Chief Michael Iglio.

Iglio said the suspect forced entry into the business after hours and attempted to remove property from within the business before fleeing the area on foot.

On August 23, 2017 at approximately 2:28 am Middletown Police Officers responded to Patriot Armory located at 368 E. Main Street in Middletown, Delaware in reference to a burglary investigation. The suspect forced entry into the business after hours and removed approximately $615.00 worth of property from within the business before fleeing in a dark colored SUV, according to Iglio.

A juvenile suspect of Wilmington was later linked to both of the above listed incidents and was identified as the suspect, said Iglio. The juvenile was also linked to additional incidents throughout New Castle County and was taken into custody by the New Castle County Police Department, added Iglio.

Middletown Police then obtained arrest warrants for the juvenile in reference to the following charges: Burglary Third Degree, Possession of Burglar Tools, Theft Under $1500, Criminal Mischief Under $1000 Damage Property, Burglary Third Degree, Possession of Burglar Tools, Criminal Mischief Under $1000 Damage Property, Attempted Theft Under $1500, and Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony.

The juvenile was arraigned on several arrest warrants and was committed to a secured facility for juveniles after failing to post bail.
