Update: Officials Update Motorcycle Crash That Shut Down Route 1 Yesterday

 

Odessa – Last evening, at approximately 5:45 pm, New Castle County Paramedics (NCCP) and personnel from the Odessa and Port Penn Fire Companies were dispatched to the area of Route 1 Southbound and Drawyers Creek, for a motorcycle crash, according to NCCP Spokesman Senior Corporal David J. McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said ariving County Paramedics found a 70-year-old male who was the operator of the motorcycle. The patient was separated from his bike during the crash. He was evaluated and treated on scene for injuries to the leg and possible internal injuries. The patient was transported to the Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board Trooper 4. The patient was stable at the time of transport.

The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the crash.

Odessa –  Firefighters from the Odessa Fire Company, along with Delaware State Troopers have responded to Route 1 SB in the area of Dwayer Creek for a crash involving a motorcycle.

Trooper 4 has been requested and will land on the highway.

Crews have closed the road in both direction to allow Trooper 4 to land.

This is the same location where a similar motorcycle accident occurred yesterday.

Patient is on board Trooper 4 and they are headed to the trauma unit.
