Accident Leaves Woman Trapped In Car, One To Hospital

New Castle – At approximately 7:30 am on Sunday, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Minquas Fire Company were dispatched to the area of Route 141 Southbound in the area of Old Airport Road, for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal David McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found a one vehicle crash with fire department personnel to extricate a trapped victim from the wreckage. The patient, a 31-year-old female, was trapped in the wreckage for approximately 13 minutes.

Once extricated, the patient was treated on scene for head, hip and abdominal injuries. The patient was transported in stable condition, to the Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board an ambulance from the Minquas Fire Company with New Castle County Paramedics accompanying.

The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the crash.
