Authorities Update Today’s Motorcycle Crash, One To Hospital


Newark – This afternoon, at approximately 4:20, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Christiana Fire Company were dispatched to the intersection of Prides Crossing and Red Mill Road, for a motorcycle crash, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal David McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found the patient, a 20-year-old male, in the care of Emergency Medical Technicians from the Christiana Fire Company. The patient was the driver and sole occupant of a motorcycle that was involved in a crash with another vehicle. The patient was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The patient was treated on scene for injuries to the hand, leg and chest. He was transported in stable condition to the Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board an ambulance from the Christiana Fire Company with New Castle County Paramedics accompanying. There were no other injuries reported at the scene.

The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the crash.

Newark – Rescue Crews from the Christiana Fire Company, along with the Delaware State Police have responded to Prides Crossing for reports of a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle.

Reports from the scene indicate that one patient was transported to area hospitals with unknown injuries.

Traffic remains obstructed as police continue to investigate.
