Downtown Newark Pizza Shop Robbed At Gunpoint

Newark– The Newark Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred on 10/2/2017 at approximately 9:40pm at Little Caesars, 240 E. Delaware Avenue, according to Lieutenant Fred Nelson.

Nelson said a 59-year-old male employee reported that two male suspects entered the business and demanded money. One of the suspects displayed a handgun and the employee turned over an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register, according to Nelson.

The suspects fled the store and were observed entering a large, dark gray sports utility vehicle parked in a nearby parking lot. The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on E. Delaware Avenue.
The suspect with the gun was described as possibly being Hispanic with missing or bad teeth, average build, approximately 5’7’’ tall, wearing a hooded jacket.

The second suspect was described as a white male, approximately 6’00’’ tall, large build, wearing a black jacket and khaki pants.
