Police: 16-Year-Old Pulls Gun On Victim, Shoots Himself In The Foot

West Minquadale – On Monday, October 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., patrol units were dispatched to the unit block of Briarcliff Dr in the community of Overview Gardens, for the report of gun shots being fired, according to County Police Spokeswoman Heather Carter.

Carter said police learned that the teen approached the 19 year-old victim and pointed a gun at him. An altercation ensued over the gun at which time the 16-year-old shot himself in the foot. He was treated and released at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The 19-year-old victim was not injured during the altercation.

The 16-year-old was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, aggravated menacing, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited. He was arraigned and committed to the detention center after failing to pay $50,000.00 cash only bail.
