Police Update Shooting In Wilmington, One To Hospital

Wilmington – On Tuesday, October, 31 2017, at approximately 3:13 pm, Wilmington Police were patrolling in the area of W. 6th and N. Madison Streets when they heard several rounds of gunfire erupt, nearby.

As assisting units were responding, one officer was flagged down by a citizen in the 1000 block of W. 6th Street advising the officer of a shooting victim, who was located in the 1000 block of W. 6th Street.

Police made contact with a 25-year-old male, from Wilmington, suffering from a single gunshot wound to his left hip.

Several shell casings were located in the 700 block of N. Van Buren Street.

The male victim was treated on scene by New Castle County paramedics, then he was transported via ambulance to St. Francis Hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition.

The investigation is on-going.

Wilmington – Wilmington Police Officers, along Wilmington Fire Fighters and New Castle County Paramedics have responded to 6th and N Van Buren Street for reports of a shooting.

Reports from the scene indicate that at least one person has been shot. Trooper 4 (Delaware State police Aviation) was alerted but was recalled while en route to the scene. No further injury information is available at this time.
