Tractor Trailer Crash Spills Fuel Across Route 13, Expect Delays


New Castle – Delaware State Police are currently on scene at the intersection of US 13 northbound and Saienni Blvd. Troopers are investigating a crash involving a tractor trailer and a Ford pickup truck that occurred this morning just before 10:00. Traffic is restricted to one lane in each direction on US 13 while crews work clear the scene.

The crash spilled approximately 150 gallons of diesel fuel across the roadway. DelDOT crews, along with the Belvedere HAZMAT Team are on scene working to cleanup the fuel and make the roadway passable.

Troopers are advising drivers to expect heavy delays in the area and to seek alternate routes of travel.

No information regarding injuries at this time.
