Gunfight In Broad Daylight Ends With Two Shot, Same Two Will Be Charged – First On FSU

Wilmington – On Wednesday, 22 November 2017, at approximately 12:54 pm, Wilmington Police were actively patrolling in the area of W. 7th and West Streets when they heard several rounds of gunfire, then observed two suspects involved in a gun fight.

Subject #1, a 26-years-old male, was located on the ground, suffering from gunshot wounds to his torso. He is currently located at Christiana Hospital where he is undergoing surgery, and is expected to survive.

Subject #2, a 22-year-old male, was seen fleeing on foot, and entered a residence located in the 700 block of N. Orange Street.

After police established a perimeter, Subject #2 attempted to flee the rear of the residence. He was subsequently apprehended in the rear yard, without incident. Subject #2 was suffering from a gunshot wound to his neck. He was treated and released by medical personnel. He is currently in police custody.

Subject #1 and Subject #2 are both victims and suspects.

Arrest warrants are currently being prepared for both suspects.

Wilmington – New Castle County Paramedics and Wilmington Police are responding to W 7th Street for reports of at least two people shot, possibly three. Reports from the scene indicate the one person has been shot in the neck.

Two patients are being transported and are en route to the hospital. Authorities are trying to determine if a third victim has been shot.

Update: Officials are unable to locate a third victim and now believe the number of people shot stands at two.

Wilmington Police are currently investigating a shooting, which occurred in W. 7th and N. Tatnall Streets.

This incident occurred at approximately 12:54 pm.

Suspect is being sought.
