Happening Now: Power Line Traps Driver Inside Dump Truck In Newark

Newark – Just after 9:00 this morning crews from Atena Hose, Hook and Ladder, along with Newark Police responded to the 300 block of Old S Chapel Street for reports of wires down.

Arriving crews found a driver trapped inside his dump truck due to an electrical wire that was caught on the truck. Reports from the scene indicate that the driver became concerned when the wire began sparking. Crews from Newark Electric responded to the scene and is working to free the man from the truck.

It not clear how the wire became entangled with the truck. Police remain on scene as the investigate.
