Happening Now: Trooper Shot In Gunfight On PA Highway

Plainfield Township – At approximately 10:30 this morning a Pennsylvania State Trooper was shot during a traffic stop near Allentown, according to authorities.

Rescue crews rushed to the scene as fellow Troopers began treating the wounded Trooper. It’s believe that the Trooper has been flown to a hospital in Bethlehem, PA.

The incident occurred at mile marker 10.4 on Route 33 South in Plainfield Township, Near Route 191. Early report indicate the the suspect fled but not before being wounded by the Trooper.

Reports indicate that the suspect drove himself to a hospital in Easton, PA and is now in custody.

Route 33 is currently closed in both directions.
